Helping Goffstown Kids Thrive: Donate to Our Food Drive

No child should have to wonder where their next meal will come from—but for too many in our community, weekends mean an empty fridge and empty stomach. The Goffstown Network Food Pantry’s Weekend Food Program helps bridge that gap by sending backpacks full of kid-friendly food home with students who might otherwise go without.
This program makes a real difference. Each Friday, volunteers pack 85+ bags and provide them to our local schools to hand out discreetly to students.
Children receive easy-to-prepare items—soups, cereals, fruit cups, granola bars, and more—so they return to school on Monday ready to learn, not distracted by hunger. For many families, this small act of support goes a long way in easing financial stress and ensuring kids have the nutrition they need.
But the Weekend Food Program is also one of the most expensive programs the Food Pantry runs.
"A lot of the food we use, we can't obtain at reduced expense through our normal resources, so it's costing us a lot of money," explains Dave Greiner, Past-President of the Goffstown Network Food Pantry.
That's where we all come in.
The Goffstown Democrats are hosting a food drive to help fill those backpacks and keep the program strong. From September 20 through October 5, we’ll be collecting items at convenient drop-off locations across town:
Flight Goffstown (24 Main St)
Gallery of Frames (119 South Mast St)
Jacques Flower Shop (712 Mast Rd)
We’re looking for shelf-stable, kid-friendly foods like:
Soup cups
Canned pasta
Cereal cups/boxes
Peanut butter crackers
Fruit cups
Pudding cups
Granola bars
Please consider a donation—our goal is to collect 500+ items. And every item you donate goes directly to a child in our community. Together, we can ensure that no Goffstown kid goes hungry over the weekend.
📦 Can’t make it to a drop-off spot? Text 603-365-8590 and we’ll arrange a pickup.
Let’s show our neighbors—and especially our kids—what community care looks like.
