This week's a doozy in Concord. Here are some of the priority issues that need your voice this week.

Note: Any bill that starts with HB is a House bill. Any bill that starts with SB is a Senate bill. You submit testimony in two different spots.

Education

❌ Oppose Amendment to HB1300 (#2026-0093h)

This is a non-germane (unrelated) amendment to the original gerrymandering bill that brings state-level school budget tax caps (SB675) back from the dead. Tricky way for our legislators to try again for something that already failed.

1/20, 10:00 am

Election Law

❌ Oppose HB1714

Authorizing the state to issue bonds to fund public school expenses. Relies on state debt as a temporary workaround instead of delivering a stable, equitable solution to fund public education.

1/20, 10:00 am

Education Funding

Support HB1799

Defines what the legislature determines as the meaning of a constitutionally adequate education. Creates a commission to study alternative methods of funding public schools besides property taxes.

1/21 3:00 pm

Removes the enrollment cap on the EFA program. Removes priority guidelines on the EFA program.

01/22, 11:25 am

Support SB582

Increases the base cost of an adequate education and expands the definition of an adequate education.

1/22, 10:40 am

01/22, 2:30 pm
